St.An.Da./Silentes is pleased to present "After the Fall", an album made by two long-standing figures of the Italian experimental and post-industrial scene: Gianluca Becuzzi and Vrna, whose real name is Gianluca Martucci. The six compositions on the tracklist are a happy synthesis of the two styles, Becuzzi's built on rough guitar drone, Martucci's on ritual ambient. To get there, the two split the compositional work along clear lines: Becuzzi played the electric instruments (guitars, basses, effects) and Martucci the acoustic ones (strings and assorted percussion), while both contributed vocals. Once that stage was over, Becuzzi assembled the tracks, mixed them and handled the final mastering. The result is a hypnotic flow, at times rhythmic, at times continuous and dilated, where the mood shifts between celestial enchantment and dark apocalyptic vaults. The album has no declared theme, but the titles and the musical atmospheres invite the listener to reflect on the loss of the mythological dimension of the past, and raise a series of questions. Where are we in history? Has our fall reached its end? And so, what awaits us tomorrow, a climb back up or a further descent?
