Candor Chasma
Seance

Ten years after "Il dipinto ucciso", Candor Chasma returns with "Seance". While the album comes full circle, revisiting the project's original fixations - the spirit world, stripped of any gothic overtone - it also signals a decisive shift in sonic language. Frameworks of abstract noise, fractured post-techno structures, asymmetric rhythms and heavily processed percussion, filters and saturation pushed to their limits: all shape five compositions poised between hypnosis and spectral chaos. Pulses and granular textures replace any stable harmonic ground, while tape-sourced material - voices, séances, ritual fragments - drifts in and out of focus, emerging only to decay again.

Between evocation and collapse, never settling. A ritual taking form as it disintegrates.

Candor Chasma is an experimental electronic music project founded in 2011 by Corrado Altieri (Uncodified, Monosonik, TH26) and Simon Balestrazzi (T.A.C., Dream Weapon Ritual, A Sphere Of Simple Green, Hidden Reverse, Kirlian Camera), both key figures in the Italian industrial and post-industrial scene. The duo's work is based on analog synthesis, tape manipulation, field recordings and noise processing techniques, resulting in dense and unstable sonic architectures that span industrial, power electronics, drone and electroacoustic abstraction. The project name derives from Candor Chasma, one of the largest canyon systems on Mars, reflecting an interest in large-scale, unstable and non-linear sonic environments. Their discography includes Rings (2012), Antimatter Circles (with Deison), Sicilia! (2014), The Key (Old Europa Café, 2014) and Il dipinto ucciso (AZOTH, 2016), establishing a consistent and recognisable aesthetic within the European experimental music landscape. Between 2011 and 2016, Candor Chasma performed at several festivals including Signal Festival (Cagliari), LEM (Barcelona), Destination Morgue (Rome) and Solo il Mio Nero (Cagliari), where they performed a live soundtrack for Richard Stanley's Dust Devil. Following Il dipinto ucciso, the project entered a long hiatus during which both members continued solo and collaborative activities. In 2026, Candor Chasma returns with Séance (Silentes), a release that reinterprets their original language through abstract noise structures, fractured rhythms, processed percussion and degraded vocal material, balancing ritual tension with sonic disintegration
