We Promise To Betray Nothing Is as It Seems Already well-known for their ambient-dark-experimental musical projects and other collaborations, Giuseppe Verticchio (Nimh, Twist of Fate, Hall of Mirrors, Maribor…) and Davide Del Col (Antikatechon, Molnija Aura, Echran, Ornament…) start this new cooperative plan to search a different, but anyway parallel to those previously explored, musical universe. Among flowing ambient atmospheres, shoegaze echoes, nearly rock progressions, more inner and crepuscular suggestions, alternating in an unusual mix of field recordings, ethereal synthetic textures, now acoustic now arpeggiated guitars, then dilated and reverberated, then expressed in bass and drums hypnotic rhythmic sections rested on leading distorted electric riffs. “Nothing is As It Seems” redefines the edges between apparently distant music genres, but in fact never so close and homogeneous for mood, climate, atmosphere, in perfect balance between research and feeling. |
